Characters with diverse skintones and body shapes
Sexually suggestive content
Simple injuries/violence/mild body horror
I will NOT draw the following:
Hateful content/symbols
NSFW/suggestive scenes with childlike characters (including adults/immortals that could be mistaken for a child)
Feral NSFW, feral/humanoid pairings
Most fetish/kink content
Drug use
Extreme violence/gore/body horror
Heavily armored characters/machinery
I MAY draw the following on a case-by-case basis:
Complex character designs (multiple sets of wings, precise leopard spots, FFXIV/other RPG outfits with lots of components, etc.); 10% upcharge if you do not want me to simplify clothes/markings
NSFW/artistic nudity; 35% upcharge and I will not agree to any content I am uncomfortable drawing
Pregnancy (in a non-fetishized context)
Famous characters (Pokemon, Digimon, etc.); in SFW situations only
References
References are images/descriptions you provide for an artist to use as guidance when creating your commission.Items to consider providing references for, depending on your commission request:
Notable physical features, such as your character's hairstyle/color, skin tone, gender presentation, eye/nose/jaw/ear shape, build, or markings (scars/birthmarks/freckles/tattoos)
Clothing/jewelry
Character heights in relation to one another
Description of character personality (may affect pose/expression)
Desired mood/pose/expression for the piece
Background components/features
Things to keep in mind:
The clearer your references, the closer to your expectations a commission will turn out. Provide multiple reference angles (such as front/back/side) with neutral lighting where possible.
I accept most kinds of references, including standard ref sheets, Pinterest/moodboards, photo collages, and other art you're loosely inspired by.
Text references are harder to work from, since it can be challenging for some commissioners to translate an image from their mind into an accurate description I can work with. I am willing to work from a description rather than visual examples if you are clear, concise, and not too picky. You will be charged an extra 10% for a very complex text description.

Payments
All prices are USD.There are two methods I accept for payments:
All purchases through VGen must be paid for upfront and completed via their platform. I accept both PayPal and Stripe payments through VGen, but prefer PayPal.
Payments outside of VGen are handled via PayPal invoice. For standard commissions over $20, I allow 50% payment upfront, 50% after you approve a sketch.

Revisions
I want you happy with your commission! I am happy to make a reasonable number of adjustments to your piece throughout the process.My standard commissions are completed in three phases:
Sketch phase: After receiving payment, I'll give you a sketch for approval. If you don't like it, I will attempt up to two more sketches. If you don't approve one, then I will cancel your commission and give you a refund. Please note that I reserve the right to recycle unused sketches for other commissions or personal work.
Once approving a sketch, you can request minor changes up to three times in the sketch phase (for example, changing the hair style/expression/limb positioning).
Color phase: after adding flat colors, I request another approval. If you notice any issues that could not be handled during the sketch phase (for example, incorrect eye/skin color) you can request changes up to three times.
Please note that the quality of your references may influence the color accuracy of my piece. I will lean towards darkening skin tones/etc. from game references such as FFXIV that tend to look washed-out, but I'm happy to adjust during this phase. Additionally, note that lighting will influence color as rendering is completed.
Rendering phase: when provided the tentative final draft, you have two opportunities to request any changes related to background/shading. Changes to layers approved in earlier phases (colors, lines) are generally not possible due to layer merging.

Deadlines & Delivery

I will deliver the agreed-upon content via VGen, email, or Google Drive upload, depending on the file size and payment handler.
I usually estimate one month per commission to be conservative. I may quote longer times for complex commissions, if I expect to be traveling, or have a full queue. Waitlists are available on some commissions on my VGen.
If you don't respond with approvals in a timely manner, or if you have a lot of requests that require additional communication, the deadline may need to be extended. I will let you know if I think that may occur.
I work primarily on evenings/weekends in the Central time zone.
If you have a specific deadline for your commission, let me know in your request.
Let me know if you are purchasing a surprise so that I don't post it too early. Please provide the date I am safe to upload to social media.
Use & Intellectual Property Rights
You can upload/share/use your commision almost anywhere, as long as you do not make a profit from it, imply my support for hateful/dangerous behavior, use it for generative AI, or claim the artwork as your own. I would appreciate it if you tag me when you share it :)
You may edit my artwork or pay another artist to make changes if desired, as long as the above rules are respected.
Commercial licensing is not currently available; if you want to profit directly from my art (on merchandise, in a video game, etc.), please send me an email with the details.
You are allowed to use my content as an asset for streaming without additional cost.
Generally, I retain copyright for my work, you retain copyright for your original characters, and characters owned by corporations still belong to them.
Refunds
Please note that different types of commissions may have different processes and options.
In standard commissions, refunds are not available after you have approved a sketch, unless I am unable to complete it.
If you do not approve a sketch after seeing three options, I will refund you, but retain the right to reuse those sketches for personal art or other commissions.
If an emergency renders me unable to complete an approved/paid commission, I will offer to provide a full refund and whatever part of your commision I had completed so far. If you'd rather me keep working but with an extended deadline, let me know.
Communication

VGen: I prefer communication through the VGen chat system to keep organized.
Outside VGen: I am available through Discord (CatSidheSilvie) or email for commissions outside of VGen.
I usually provide weekly updates on accepted commissions, and you can ask for an update if I miss a week/you don't see progress in my queue (see below).
Please do not spam me multiple times per week asking for an update -- it will make your commission take longer :)
I will reach out for at least three approvals on rendered pieces that are more than $20 and aren't "Surprise Me" style. Please respond with approvals in a timely manner, because I will pause all work on your commission until I hear back.
Queue
I manage my commissions queue through Trello. Please note that I do not use this unless I have multiple commissions simultaneously.
If you do not see your commission on my queue, feel free to inquire. Odds are, it means I have no other commissions at the moment and am actively working on yours :)
Name Ownership Clause
Hey, my name IS Cat Sidhe -- I had to try it.
By agreeing to these terms and NOT pointing out this section, you thereby agree that Silvie the cat sidhe, a subspecies of fey, now owns your name and any/all power that ownership confers for one year and one day from the moment your commission request is received.Additionally, you agree to the following:
You will be available every night just after the witching hour, Silvie's time, to be summoned as needed for witchy purposes including but not limited to: moonlit strolls, art modeling, and/or defense from raccoon-instigated home invasions.
You will tell the next cat who you meet that they are beautiful, just the way they are.
You will read the details of contracts more closely next time.
If you do point out this clause at the time of submitting a commission request in the "Questions and comments" section, you may keep your name, and get a 5% discount on that commission.
"Surprise Me" Commissions
Also called Skeb-style or Surprise Commissions
"Surprise Me" commissions are a quicker, cheaper, and lower-communication option than my standard commission style. As such, there are several differences in the process:
In Surprise commissions, refunds are not available after your request is accepted, unless I am unable to complete it.
You do not get to be "picky" about the content -- you only provide the character references and personality, a mood for the piece, and suggestions for posing/background that I may or may not use.
You do not receive any communication from me unless I have a specific question from the point that I approve the commission/receive payment until it is complete. There are no work-in-progress (WIP) approvals.
After I am finished with your commission, I will send you the file for final approval, and you can request fixes for any mistakes I made. This only includes FIXES, such as incorrect eye/skin color based on a clear reference. After these fixes or your approval, it's done!
Good references are imperative for these commissions. Feel free to also provide textual descriptions of anything important to note/include.
"Your Character Here" Commissions
Also called YCHs
YCH commissions are a quicker, cheaper, and lower-communication option than my standard commission style. As such, there are several differences in the process:
In YCH commissions, refunds are not available after your request is accepted, unless I am unable to complete it.
You will have your character drawn into the scene provided, replacing the sample character in the same pose. These scenes may be reused for additional commissioners/my own characters.
You do not receive any communication from me unless I have a specific question from the point that I approve the commission and receive payment until it is complete. There are no work-in-progress (WIP) approvals.
After I am finished, I will send you the file for final approval, and you can request fixes for any mistakes I made. This only includes FIXES, such as incorrect eye/skin color based on a clear reference. After these fixes or your approval, it's done!
Good references are imperative for these commissions to really make it feel like your character. Feel free to also provide textual descriptions of anything important to note/include.
Adoptable Designs
Also called Adoptables
Adoptables are character/outfit/weapon/etc. designs created by an artist and then sold or "adopted." After purchase, that creation is yours to use!There are some additional considerations when purchasing an adoptable:
There are no refunds on adoptables.
On VGen: purchases are upfront and managed through their Shop.
Outside of VGen: when you state intent to purchase an adoptable/win an auction, I will DM you for your Paypal address for an invoice. Adoption fees must be paid within 48 hours, or else the adoptable will go back up for sale. If I receive your payment late and someone else has already purchased/won the adoptable, you will be refunded ASAP. You may attempt to purchase the adoptable again if it is available, but if you fail to pay within 24 hours the second time, you will be banned from my adoptables going forward.
Once I receive successful payment, you can use the adopted design as you like (within reason).Do not use my adoptables for:
Dangerous/hateful purposes
NFTs
Gen-AI
Design flipping; you may resell my designs for the same amount you paid, or for a higher cost if you increased their value through other artwork.
